About GoZuus

We simplify group management.

We are founded in the belief that group leadership shouldn't be a chore. By solving the common problems shared by most student organizations, we can reduce the burden and let you get back to doing the things for which you joined in the first place.

We focus on the experience.

We believe in tools that get the job done and then get out of the way. Clear design, attention to detail, and a relentless focus on the user experience achieve a product that goes beyond simple functionality to produce something you'll actually want to use.

We believe in the greek community.

As fraternity men ourselves, we strongly believe that there is no better way to develop character, leadership skills, and life-long friendships. We build tools that foster growth and strengthen the system as a whole.

Fraternities and sororities cannot and should not thrive on their own. A strong network of campus organizations is mutually beneficial. These groups can benefit from the same great software, which is why similar features are available at a reduced price or free for those organizations.

Our Philosophy

Good software requires no training.

Intuitive design should supplant the need for training. It is difficult to accomplish on the first iteration, but by learning from our customers we can improve for future users.

Contracts are a trap.

Commitments, setup, and termination fees are tricks used to hold on to customers. Our best work comes by forcing ourselves to earn your support each month, so these methods have no place here.

Great products evolve.

Far too often companies in this market build the first version and then label it done. By listening and watching, we intend to continuously improve upon what we've started with.

Functionality is only the first step.

Unfortunately, most software stops there. We move beyond by building tools that not only solve problems, but solve them as quickly and easily as possible.

One size does not fit all.

We don't market GoZuus as a solution for groups of all types. GoZuus is first and foremost for student organizations. If it works for other groups that's great, but our first focus is students.

Development is our passion.

Many companies spend energy on intensive marketing, sales, and deal-making. We genuinely love building great software, and that passion shows in our product.

History of GoZuus

GoZuus was originally created in 2003 by Elliott as a student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. It was developed to fill a need within our own fraternity, and started off as a small member directory project. As the site grew, officers and committee chairs within our group began to ask if we could move more and more of the more repetitive and tedious tasks associated with their positions to the website, so that they could spend more time being a part of the fraternity and waste less time running it.

The site grew to manage our event signups, e-mail lists, attendance, balances, work hours, collection of old tests and assignments, and nearly every record-keeping aspect of the chapter. Eventually other groups started to take notice and asked if they could use a similar system. However, its creator was graduating and didn't want the responsibility of managing all these websites as he started his career, and so those projects never moved forward.

Eventually we realized we were on to something. The original site languished, as the learning curve for taking over a project with 120,000 lines of code loomed large over future webmasters. Similar products emerged on the market. Our friends and family started using these products, and were continually dissatisfied. They complained that these sites were difficult to use, and suffered from slow adoption by members due to their poor design.

To solve their frustrations, we decided to bring the project back to life in late 2008. But a lot has changed on the Internet since 2003. Building upon those years of experience, we rewrote the entire system from scratch using modern technologies. The result is a service unrivaled in its field for polish, ease-of-use, and sophistication. After hearing praises during our beta period, we're excited for what the 2009-10 school year holds and beyond.
